Feed Me Before The Sun Sets

Lace Up for Charity: The November 3 Mile Run A Day to Support Hunger Initiatives

At Feed Me Before The Sun Sets, we are building a community of service and fitness.

The November initiative to step outdoors and run, walk, hike, cycle or swim, was an initiative to bring awareness to hunger, and raise funds to feed households in need.

We included the community to participate in activities outdoors, and we were overwhelmed by the amazing response. Community members got their friends, family, neighbors and colleagues involved. They shared videos and photos of their activities, and donated to the cause.

Our founder also committed to running 3 miles every day in the month of November.

We exceeded our fundraising goal, and are extremely grateful for the community’s support to help us make an impact.

Every footstep we take is a step towards ending hunger.

A THANK YOU FROM OUR FOUNDER

To my volunteer board members and ambassadors, thank you from the bottom of my heart for immediately jumping in to make this passion a reality.

All of you – your prayers, check ins, running with me in person, beautiful motivating messages, sending playlists, and stepping outdoors to help us build this community, I say Medase Piii (Thank You Very Much). Every message sent added a building block of confidence and excitement. I didn’t step out everyday in November by myself to run 3 miles, I stepped out with you, and for that I am grateful.

To our donors, I am extremely grateful for your kindness – Nyame Nshyra Mu (God Bless You Abundantly)

To all the strangers who waved, smiled, yelled congratulations from across the street, rolled down your car windows to say well done, you put a pep in my step, and for that I am eternally grateful.

The impact of everyone’s kindness is going to spread far and wide, and give hope before the sun sets.

With humility and gratitude, I hang my hat for the November event today. As Rich Roll said, “There are no finish lines, just another step on your path” . The November event is indeed not the finish line, it is a step in our path to build a community of service and passion for fitness.

Today may be the last day of the November event, but today is also Day number 72 of my running streak. We are not done. There are many more exciting outdoor adventures to come – mountains to climb, trails to explore and miles to run, to bring awareness to hunger. Stay tuned!!!
